This folding altar was designed for a customer who shared accommodation with other users and needed to be able to clear the hall when they had finished a service. The altar is on castors and can easily be moved. A cross is cut out in the front and provision is made to be able to fit a coloured hanging behind it.
The castors have brakes to lock them in position when needed.
The altar is made of pine and is painted with a clear varnish but other finishes can be supplied by arrangement.
The altar photographed below is a 90cm wide by 45cm deep and 100cm high version but the standard version is 120cm wide x 50cm deep. Wider versions (up to 160cm wide x 60cm deep) or made in oak can be made at extra cost.
With the brakes "ON" the top is raised, the castor brakes on the rear legs are released and the legs, (which are fixed to the front face of the altar),can then hinge inward, to lie flat against the front.
The top can then be lowered. The brakes on the front castors can then be released to allow movement. Care should be taken when moving the alter in the folded position.
Storage of the folded altar in the upright position is possible if the brakes are engaged and it is leant against a wall.
The altar is made to order and but completion should be in the range 2-4 weeks and delivery should be discussed with me at the time of ordering.
Price £345 plus delivery.
